Census: Ethnic Groups

Stephen Williams: To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office to what extent the equality impact assessment conducted by the Office for National Statistics in respect of the 2011 census question development considered the effect on equality of how public bodies use the ethnic group data in meeting the Race Relations Act public sector duties. [320531]

Angela E. Smith: The information requested falls within the responsibility of the UK Statistics Authority. I have asked the authority to reply. Copies of the letters will be placed in the Libraries of the House.

Stephen Williams: To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office whether the Office for National Statistics sets a minimum threshold for the number of respondents to a specified ethnic group category in deciding on its inclusion or continued inclusion in the Census. [320532]
