To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how much funding was allocated to Sure Start in each (a) parliamentary constituency and (b) region in each year since the programme started. [325027]
Dawn Primarolo [holding answer 29 March 2010]: The Department does not collect information by constituency. Sure Start allocations were made to local authorities. Each local authority is responsible for managing Sure Start activity across their area and will decide how much to spend in each constituency.
The Sure Start funding allocated to each region since the programme started is given in Table 1 as follows.
