I would like to comment upon the essential reduction
in the use of plastic bags by retailers.
I do feel that the majority of people (certainly
in my region—South Gloucestershire) fully support the reduction
in the use of plastic bags when shopping.
Why does it have to take so long for you to
take formal action on this matter? Our neighbours, France, just
decreed that from a certain date retailers were not to supply
free plastic bags—why does it have to take us so long and
why does it have to be gradual? Just do it—people soon get
used to taking reusable bags.
