STRATEGIC PROGRAMME
FUND (SPF) ANNUAL
REPORT FOR
2008-09
I have pleasure in enclosing copies of the Strategic
Programme Fund (SPF) Annual Report for 2008-09.[12]
The Strategic Programme Fund is a key tool for supporting
delivery of our Departmental Strategic Objectives. The report
illustrates how relatively small funds can help us to make a real
impact on policy delivery, enabling us to work with a wide range
of people around the world in pursuit of British interests and
foreign policy objectives.
Our overseas Posts have continued to look for opportunities
to fund larger, multi-year projects that might bring about transformational
change, and to measure the results as far as possible. Projects
are fully integrated into the Country Business Planning process
to ensure the right focus in each country and to form part of
the programme of work for each Post.
The report will be laid before Parliament as
a Command Paper on 13 October and placed in the Library of the
House. It will also be published on the FCO website.
