Amend
section 5 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004

include serious harm to a
child or vulnerable adult; to make consequential |

amendments to the Act; and
for connected purposes. |

and Temporal, and Commons, in this present |

Parliament assembled, and
by the authority of the same, as follows:— |

to the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 |

(1) |
The Domestic Violence, Crime
and Victims Act 2004 is amended as follows. |
|
|
(2) |
In section 5(1)(a), after
“dies” insert “or is seriously harmed”. |
|
|
(3) |
In section 5(1)(d), after
“death” insert “or serious harm”. |
|
|
(4) |
In section 5(3)(a), after
“death” insert “or serious harm”. |
|

In section 5(4)(b), after
“death” insert “or serious harm”. |

(6) |
In section 6(5), after “section
5”, insert “of death or serious harm”. |

Short
title, commencement and extent |

This Act may be cited as
the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims |

This Act comes into force
on such day as the Secretary of State may by order |

made by statutory instrument
appoint. |

(3) |
This Act extends to England
and Wales. |
