“(9)    

In this section an “Academy” means a school to which Academy

 

arrangements within the meaning of section 1 of the Academies Act

 

2010 apply.

 

(10)    

The Secretary of State may by order confer a discretion on the

 

Secretary of State to determine, in such circumstances and subject to

 

such conditions as may be prescribed in the order, that the provisions

 

of this section shall not apply to school teachers employed in an

 

individual Academy or group of Academies.”’.

In section 240(4) insert at the end “or who would be such a person if employed

 

to work at a maintained school”.

 

  (25G)  

In section 241 insert—

 

““academy” means an Academy within the meaning of the Academies

 

Act 2010,

 

“Academy arrangements” means Academy arrangements within the

 

meaning of the Academies Act 2010”.

To move the following Clause:—

 

‘Before the end of the period of three months beginning with the day on which

 

this Act is passed, the Secretary of State must lay before Parliament an

 

assessment of the impact of this Act on educational psychology, support for

 

children with sensory and physical impairments and other low incidence special

 

educational needs, and other special educational needs services.’.
