| | To move the following Clause:— |
|
| | | ‘(1) | Section 45 of the Local Government Act (c. 22) (provision with respect to |
|
| | | referendums) is amended as follows. |
|
| | | (2) | For subsection (1) substitute— |
|
| | | “(1) | A local authority in England or Wales may not hold more than one |
|
| | | referendum in any period of five years.”. |
|
| | | (3) | Section 45, as amended by subsection (1), applies to referendums held before, and |
|
| | | referendums held after, this section comes into force.’. |
