Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill

Memorandum submitted by P Longyear (PR 53)

I would like to advise you that this country, contrary to parliament beliefs, do not require a police reform that mimics that of the USA .

This is the United kingdom & as such need to retain some common sense .

We as a nation do NOT need to spend excessive amounts of money that could be more wisely spent on our great police force. It has been stated in the media that approx.2 million pounds would be require to fund an election, what a travesty ,this money would be better spent retaining our much needed police services.

The police force should remain an independent body for whom they choose their officers as they know their staff far better than anyone else. This includes members of parliament.
