7. Letter to the Commissioner from

Further to the letters that you recently sent me
and my wife Julie Kirkbride we were wondering whether you have
considered the serious issue of double jeopardy. We note that
Sir Thomas Legg has not scrutinised the second home allowances
of our colleagues who were being investigated by you so as to
avoid double jeopardy. As we are in dialogue with Sir Thomas concerning
his provisional findings on issues directly relating to the complaints
you raise we would much appreciate your comments and advice.
