That the Committee takes note of European Union Document No. 14768/10 and Addendum, relating to a Commission Communication on Facing the challenge of the safety of offshore oil and gas activities; agrees that the UK has a proven, robust offshore environmental and safety regime, and supports the Government’s intention to work closely with the Commission and EU Member States to ensure that high standards of health and safety and high levels of protection for the environment are maintained across Europe in respect of oil and gas operations.
