There is a huge problem with mice and rats in many
of the areas where food is served. I myself have on numerous occasions
seen mice/rats running around in the Members Tea Room, the Smoking
Room and the Terrace cafeteria.
On one instance I saw a mouse roaming the terrace
café where large numbers of people were dining in broad
daylight. When I pointed it out to a member of staff she shrugged
and told me that "We call him Albert and he always pops out
at this time of day."
If we are to be charged "the going rate"
for cups of tea then I think we have the right to the same levels
of cleanliness that would apply in a public restaurant.
Perhaps it is something the Committee might consider.
