Financing of new housing supply

There is £101.7 billion pounds invested into just over 800,000 Sipps currently. There are different types and characteristics but of the higher value more flexible type which would have funds and the ability to undertake the investments required there are 200,000 or 25% of the total number.

My original estimate of 50,000 that would be interested or likely to take up such an offer would appear to be on the conservative side according to those I have spoken to. There is the potential for a significant contribution to the economy, that would grow further with stamp duty, furnishing, etc etc.
