I am writing in response to your letter of 15 July
2011, regarding the leak of some of the contents of the Football
Governance draft Report. The leak seems to me to be potentially
more damaging than the previous one, because of the opportunity
it gives stakeholders to brief against the draft recommendations,
and possibly affect how the media covers the Report when it is
published. I am not responsible for the leak, and do not know
how it came about.

Thank you for your letter of 15th July.
I left for California on 13th July and only returned
yesterday and so I am afraid I missed your deadline of 19th
July for a response.
I did, indeed, receive a draft copy of the report
and I attended the meeting on 12th July.
I cannot explain how the leak came about but I can
confirm that no one apart from me has had access to my copy of
the draft Report at any stage.
