Culture, Media and Sport CommitteeLetter from Chair, Culture, Media and Sport Committee to Surrey Police

As I am sure you are aware, the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee is investigating whether it, or one of its predecessor Committees, has been misled on the subject of phone-hacking.

During the course of its investigation, the Committee has asked questions about the alleged hacking of Milly Dowler’s mobile telephone. In connection with this, the Committee agreed that it would write to you to seek answers on the following points:

(1)Please could you provide details of any conversations held between officers in the Surrey police force and employees of the News of the World on the subject of information obtained through voicemail interception.

(2)Please could you provide details of all conversations held between officers in the Surrey police force and Neville Thurlbeck on 13 and 14 April 2002 in relation to a story published about Milly Dowler on 14 April 2002.

I would be very grateful to receive your response by no later than 1200 noon on Monday 9 January 2012.
