Written evidence from Kingsdon Parish
Council (BUS 75)
The aged in small rural communities are very dependent
on public transport where the village has lost its post office
and in many cases has lost the village shop or closure is imminent.
To these people this service is a life line. Any attempt to reduce
the bus service with less flexibility would produce a narrow timetable
creating anxiety for the aged.
If cuts are to be made in the transport budget free
transport should be confined to essential journeys only.
