WRITTEN EVIDENCE SUBMITTED BY CRAIG LEACH [OS 21]

I am 27 years old and was a former security officer for Securicor that then merged with Group 4 as they then become known as G4S and other Security companies I was also SIA approved front line security guard.

I have been unemployed for over two years now and when I saw a post on a website that G4S was looking for security for London Olympic 2012. I told the job centre staff of my intentions and contacted G4S thought there website to seek employment. I had to attend two interviews with G4S in Newcastle at St James Park which cost over £60.00 each interview. A few weeks after the interview I got a phone call from G4S asking me for some more information for my screening and they told me someone would be in contact in the next six weeks. I waited over six weeks and decided to call them to see how the application was going and spoke to someone on the team and they said they would follow this up for me and someone would get back to me since this phone call I have had no contact from them so I ask could I reclaim the £130.00 costs attending G4S interviews from G4S.

I request my MP Linda Riordan Labour Halifax to refer my evidence relative to G4S to The House Of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee urgently and to G4S HQ to see if I can be repaid my costs.

I am very displeased with G4S conduct which left me seriously out of pocket.
