Following our private word in the House this week, I should be grateful if you could confirm that you will be making an Oral Statement to the House giving the outcome of the Government’s review of arms exports to North Africa and the wider Middle East announced by Alistair Burt in February.

You said that the timing of this Oral Statement was likely to be in the week of Monday 5 September. This timing would be most helpful.

I mentioned to you that I would be abroad on parliamentary business for the whole of the week of 12 September.
