Further to SP Energy Networks providing evidence to the Committee, written on 2 February 2012 and oral evidence on 8 February 2012, we would like to clarify one point to avoid any potential misunderstanding arising:

This specifically relates to the number of customers off supply on the Friday night of 6 January from the storm on Tuesday 3 January.

Our written evidence details that around 600 customers were off supply on the Friday night of 6 January 2012.

However, it does not make clear that the majority of these customers were off supply as a result of faults that occurred due to continuing high winds later in that week, and were not off supply from the main storm event on Tuesday 3 January 2012.

Our oral evidence confirmed that around 100 of the customers off supply on the Friday night had been off supply from the main storm on the Tuesday 3 January 2012.
