In 2012 I contacted my energy supplier to state I did not want a smart meter installed due to already suffering from electromagnetic sensitivity. I was assured by British Gas that the UK was NOT going to make smart meters mandatory, yet now I read the opposite is planned without consultation nor permission from the public that Smart Meter rollout is to go ahead.

There is no “independent-of-corporate-interest” evidence of cost savings of smart meters to the consumer.

Smart Meter technology also violates privacy via monitoring individual usage of appliances—this is in short in-house surveillance and I do not give my consent for this.

It is simply irresponsible and duplicitous for the current unelected government to rubber-stamp this further corporate takeover of our energy supply. As paid public servants sworn to serve the public welfare over corporate interests, all those involved with proceeding with this proposed action will be deemed as complicit in the crime of doing harm under Common Law.
