Pre-appointment hearings
1. The post of Chairman of Natural England is one
of the positions to which the procedure for pre-appointment Parliamentary
scrutiny applies.
2. The Secretary of State for the Environment, Food
and Rural Affairs, Rt Hon. Owen Paterson MP, wrote to the Chair
on 27 November 2013 to indicate that Andrew Sells had been identified
as the preferred candidate for the post of Chairman of Natural
England. We were pleased to have the opportunity to question Mr
Sells prior to his appointment.
