Recruitment for Natural England Chairman
I am writing to inform you that, following an open
recruitment competition chaired by OCPA-appointed Public Appointments
Assessor John Knight, my preferred candidate for the role is Andrew
Sells. I attach Mr Sells's Curriculum Vitae and political activity
questionnaire at Annex A. I attach further details of how the
recruitment was conducted at Annex B and the job advert is at
Annex C. The press release announcing my preferred candidate is
at Annex D.[2] I hope this
is sufficient but if the Committee require any additional information
we are happy to provide it.
I should be grateful if you would submit the name
to the Committee for their consideration, and arrange for a pre-appointment
Scrutiny Hearing to take place as early as possible.
I understand that there may be an opportunity to
arrange a hearing on 10th December. It would be very
helpful if you can confirm this date as soon as possible.
