Annex II: Chief Constables' pay
The salaries of senior officers vary according to
the size of the force. New rules will allow PCCs to vary the existing
starting salaries for Chief Constables by up to 10%. Under this
arrangement the new chief constable of Essex, Stephen Kavanagh,
will be paid £192,163a basic wage of £148,000,
an allowance of £22,000 and a housing subsidy of £7,000.
