Implementation of the Armed Forces Covenant in Northern Ireland - Northern Ireland Affairs Committee Contents

6  Conclusion

98. When we embarked on this inquiry, we were keen to ascertain whether members of the Armed Forces Community in Northern Ireland were at a serious disadvantage when compared to those in Great Britain. There are undoubtedly areas where specific policies applied in Great Britain are not implemented in Northern Ireland and there are other areas where improvements should be possible. But we were encouraged by the advances made by departments of the Northern Ireland Executive and the commitment of the ministers we took evidence from; and are satisfied that, taken as a whole, the Armed Forces Community in Northern Ireland is not disadvantaged.
