Transport CommitteeWritten evidence from Rani Pert (DAT 103)

I would like to make comment on the difficulties in Suffolk for Visually Impaired people on Public Transport.

There is no talking drop of points stated on buses.

At the railway station, it is quite difficult to find an member of staff to help.

Also on trains to London, the stops are rarely mentioned.

I do feel with the increase in visual impairment, especially with our aging population, it is important to make these people feel as normal as possible, and can only be done by helping with verbal aids . This should be done throughout the Country and this standardised.
