4Staff numbers

70.In Q4 2015, there were 11,615 full time equivalent staff working in UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and Immigration Enforcement. This is 701 full-time equivalent staff or 6% less than the same quarter in the previous year.63

MPs’ correspondence

71.The chart below shows the proportion of MPs’ emails and enquiries made via the MPs’ inquiry line which were responded to within the target time.

The Home Office aims to respond to 95% of letters and emails from Members of Parliament within 20 days. 97% of the 3,830 letters and 100% of the 4,572 emails were responded to within 20 working days in Q4 2015.64 The Home Office aims to resolve 90% of queries made via the telephone inquiry line that cannot be solved immediately within 10 working days of receiving the call.
