Frank Field presented a Bill to safeguard rights of European Union citizens in the United Kingdom after exit day; to make provision for arrangements to be made with other European Economic Area countries and Switzerland to maintain the rights of British citizens in those countries after exit day; and for connected purposes.

Bill read the first time; to be read a second time tomorrow, and to be printed (Bill 383).

12High Speed Rail (West Midlands - Crewe) Bill

Mr Speaker laid upon the Table a Report from the Examiners of Petitions for Private Bills, as follows:

(1) The Secretary of State for Transport deposited a certificate in the Private Bill Office on 25 April 2019, pursuant to Standing Order 224A(5) and (8), stating that all the comments on the Supplementary Environmental Statement 2 and Additional Provision 2 Environmental Statement (AP2 ES) relating to the High Speed Rail (West Midlands - Crewe) Bill, deposited on Friday 8 February 2019, were received by the independent assessor by Tuesday 23 April 2019;

(2) the Examiners have instructed the independent assessor to prepare the report required under Standing Order 224A(6)(a)(i) and (8) within 28 days, that is, by Wednesday 22 May 2019; and

(3) before setting the period in paragraph 2, the Examiners consulted the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to Standing Order 224A(6)(a)(iv) and (8).
