Joint Committee on The Draft Communications Bill Appendices to the Minutes of Evidence

Memorandum submitted by mediawatch—UK

I understand that you have invited written evidence to assist with the Committee's deliberations on the Communications Bill.

I would like to submit the enclosed publications[72] produced by this association in response to Government consultations.

From our initial reading of the Bill it is evident that the concerns and misgivings of the viewing and listening public over offensive programme content have not been properly addressed.

We hope that our submission, particularly the suggestions set out in "A Fair Deal for Stakeholders" will be of assistance. We would appreciate an opportunity to provide oral evidence based on our accumulated experience should you think it appropriate.
