Memorandum from the Society of London
Theatre and Theatrical Management Association (DCH 256)
1. The Society of London Theatre and the
Theatrical Management Association are the trade associations representing
the interests of theatre managers, producers and owners in central
London and elsewhere in the UK respectively. Many of the theatres
represented in the membership of the two organisations are charities.
2. We wish to express our support for section
27 (remuneration of trustees, etc providing services to charity).
We anticipate that it will enable theatres to attract eminent
individuals with a high level of knowledge and experience of the
performing arts to their boards, thereby facilitating and enhancing
their governance.
