Joint Committee on Statutory Instruments Twenty-Fourth Report

Appendix 6 S.I. 2004/1406: memorandum from the Department for Constitutional Affairs

Collection of Fines (Pilot Schemes) (Amendment) Order 2004 (S.I. 2004/1406)

1. The Department for Constitutional Affairs submits this memorandum in response to the request dated 22 June 2004 on the point set out below:

Given that this Order corrects errors in S.I. 2004/175, have arrangements been made for copies to be made available free of charge to purchasers of that instrument? If not, why not? If so, why does this Order not bear an italic headnote to that effect?

2. It was an omission on the part of the Department of Constitutional Affairs not to arrange for free copies of the Collection of Fines (Pilot Schemes) (Amendment) Order 2004 (SI 2004/1406). The Department apologises for this error.

3. We are now making arrangements for free copies of the instrument and are re-issuing the instrument with the relevant italic headnote.
