9.Education (Student Loans) Bill—The bill was read a third time and passed.
10.Beef Bones Regulations 1997—It was moved by the Lord Willoughby de Broke to resolve that this House calls on Her Majesty’s Government to revoke the Beef Bones Regulations 1997 (S.I. 1997/2959), laid before the House on 15th December 1997, to allow further consultation with consumers and consumer organisations, farmers, trade representatives and the relevant enforcement agencies; after debate, the motion was agreed to (see division list).
11.Royal Assent—The Lord Speaker (Viscount Allenby of Megiddo) notified the Queen’s Assent to the following Act:

12.Local Government (Experimental Arrangements) Bill [HL]—The House resolved itself into a Committee upon the bill; amendments were moved and (by leave of the Committee) withdrawn; amendments were agreed to; the House was resumed and the bill was reported with amendments; it was ordered that the bill be printed as amended. 13.Zimbabwe—The Lord Vivian asked Her Majesty’s Government how they view the Zimbabwean Government’s current policy on land acquisition; after debate, the question was answered by the Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean.
