6.European Communities (Amendment) Bill—The bill was returned from the Commons with the amendment disagreed to with a reason for such disagreement; it was ordered that the reason be printed. (HL Bill 123)
7.Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Bill [HL]—The Commons amendments were considered and agreed to.
8.School Standards and Framework Bill—The House again resolved itself into a Committee upon the bill; amendments were moved and (by leave of the Committee) withdrawn; amendments were agreed to; an amendment was disagreed to (see division list); the House was resumed.
9.Lomúe; Convention and the Caribbean—The Baroness Young asked Her Majesty’s Government what is their policy towards the European Commission’s negotiating Directive for a post-Lomé agreement, with particular regard to the Caribbean; after debate, the question was answered by the Lord Whitty.
10.School Standards and Framework Bill—The House again resolved itself into a Committee upon the bill; amendments were moved and (by leave of the Committee) withdrawn; amendments were agreed to; the House was resumed after Clause 118 stood part.
