16.Economic and fiscal strategy—It was moved by the Lord McIntosh of Haringey that this House approve the Government’s assessment as set out in the Economic and Fiscal Strategy Report 1998 and Comprehensive Spending Review for the purposes of section 5 of the European Communities (Amendment) Act 1993; after debate, the motion was agreed to.
17.Scotland Bill—The House again resolved itself into a Committee upon the bill; amendments were moved and (by leave of the Committee) withdrawn; amendments were agreed to; an amendment was disagreed to (see division list 3); the House was resumed after Clause 53 stood part.
18.Crime and Disorder Bill [HL]—The bill was returned from the Commons with the amendments to which the Lords had disagreed not insisted on.
