SPECIAL REPORT

SELECT COMMITTEE ON THE CEREMONY OF INTRODUCTION

  By the Select Committee appointed to consider the ceremony of Introduction.

ORDERED TO REPORT

  1. On 2 December 1997 the House agreed to appoint a Select Committee with the following terms of reference:

    "To consider alterations in the ceremony of Introduction and to make recommendations."

  2. The Committee has held its first meeting, and has agreed to invite oral or written evidence from a number of witnesses.

  3. The Committee's selection of witnesses is intended to cover all the main aspects of the terms of reference. If individual members of the House wish to submit written evidence to the enquiry they would, however, be welcome to do so. Members interested in submitting written evidence should send it, by Monday 16 February, to:
