Select Committee on European Communities Ninth Report

NINTH REPORT

25th November 1997

By the Select Committee appointed to consider Community proposals, whether in draft or otherwise, to obtain all necessary information about them, and to make reports on those which, in the opinion of the Committee, raise important questions of policy or principle, and on other questions to which the Committee considers that the special attention of the House should be drawn.

Ordered to Report

EVIDENCE BY THE MINISTER OF STATE,
FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE,
ON THE AMSTERDAM TREATY

1. In recent years it has been our practice to take evidence regularly, normally after the sixmonthly meetings of the European Council, from a Minister of State Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

2. Accordingly, in this report we make available for the information of the House oral evidence given to us by Mr Doug Henderson MP, Minister for Europe, on the outcome of the Amsterdam European Council held on 16th-17th June 1997 and on The Amsterdam Treaty.
