DGVIII (Commissioner Pinheiro) (about 746 staff managing aid)

  External relations with the ACP and South Africa; the Lomé Convention; Budget lines which benefit all developing countries, such as non-emergency food aid, and NGO co-financing.

DGIA (Commissioner van den Broek) (about 956 staff)

  External relations with central and eastern Europe and central Asia (including Mongolia) (the Phare and TACIS programmes), Turkey, Cyprus, Malta (and other European countries outside the EU).

DGIB (Commissioner Marin) (about 726 staff)

  Community relations with developing countries in the southern Mediterranean, Middle East, Latin America and most Asian developing countries (Except China).

DGI (Commissioner Brittan) (about 16 staff)

  China, Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and international negotiations (e.g, in Uruguay Round).

ECHO (European Commission Humanitarian Office) (about 87 staff) (Commissioner Bonino)

  Humanitarian aid (including emergency food aid)
