An Act to amend section 7(4) of the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967 in respect of several fisheries.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
 

Amendment of section 7(4) of Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967.     1. In section 7 of the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967 (protection of fisheries), in subsection (4)(a), after sub-paragraph (ii) there is inserted "; or
 
 
      (iii) in the case of a several fishery, an implement or a type specified in the order and so used as not to disturb or injure in any manner shellfish of the description in question".
Short title, commencement and extent.     2. This Act-
 
 
    (a) may be cited as the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) (Amendment) Act 1999;
 
    (b) shall be taken for the purposes of the Scotland Act 1998 to be a pre-commencement enactment within the meaning of that Act;
 
    (c) comes into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which it is passed; and
 
    (d) does not extend to Northern Ireland.
