  PART VII
  SUPPLEMENTARY
Transitional provisions and savings.     79. Schedule 10 (transitional provisions and savings) has effect.
 
Repeals and revocations.     80. Schedule 11 (repeals and revocations) has effect.
 
Crown application.     81. This Act binds the Crown.
 
Commencement.     82. - (1) Subject to subsection (2), the preceding provisions of this Act shall come into force on such day as the Lord Chancellor may by order made by statutory instrument appoint; and different days may be appointed for different purposes.
 
      (2) The following provisions shall come into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which this Act is passed-
 
 
    (a) Part II,
 
    (b) Part IV,
 
    (c) in Part V, sections 52 to 54, 58, 59, 61 and 62 and Schedule 7,
 
    (d) in Part VI, section 78, and
 
    (e) in Schedule 11, Part III and Part IV (1) and (4), apart from the provisions specified in subsection (3).
      (3) The provisions excepted from subsection (2)(e) are the repeal of section 67(8) of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980 (and that in Schedule 11 to the Children Act 1989) contained in Part IV(1) of Schedule 11.
 
Extent.     83. - (1) Part II extends to Scotland.
 
      (2) Sections 72(2) and (3) and 78(2) extend to Northern Ireland.
 
      (3) Sections 75, 76 and 77 and (subject to subsection (4)) this Part extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
 
      (4) The provisions of this Act which make amendments or repeals in other enactments have the same extent as the enactments which they amend or repeal.
 
      (5) Subject to that, this Act extends to England and Wales.
 
      (6) For the purposes of the Scotland Act 1998 this Act, so far as it extends to Scotland, shall be taken to be a pre-commencement enactment within the meaning of that Act.
 
Short title.     84. This Act may be cited as the Access to Justice Act 1999.
