Broadcasting of parliamentary proceedings. |
21. - (1) The British Broadcasting Corporation shall broadcast in digital form for reception in the United Kingdom television programmes consisting of- |
|
(a) a continuous live broadcast of all proceedings of each House of Parliament, and |
|
(b) an edited broadcast of the previous day's proceedings of committees of each House, |
|
of such nature and on such terms as may be agreed by each House or by a person appointed by or acting on behalf of either House. |
|
(2) In subsection (1)(a) "proceedings" excludes proceedings in a committee of either House, except a committee of the whole House. |
Short title and commencement. |
22. - (1) This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Government Act 1999. |
|
(2) Section 18 shall come into force on such day as the Prime Minister may by order made by statutory instrument appoint (being a day no later than 1st January 2010). |
|
(3) The remaining provisions of this Act, other than this section, shall come into force at the end of the Session of Parliament in which this Act is passed. |
