Broadcasting of parliamentary proceedings.     21. - (1) The British Broadcasting Corporation shall broadcast in digital form for reception in the United Kingdom television programmes consisting of-
 
 
    (a) a continuous live broadcast of all proceedings of each House of Parliament, and
 
    (b) an edited broadcast of the previous day's proceedings of committees of each House,
  of such nature and on such terms as may be agreed by each House or by a person appointed by or acting on behalf of either House.
 
      (2) In subsection (1)(a) "proceedings" excludes proceedings in a committee of either House, except a committee of the whole House.
 
Short title and commencement.     22. - (1) This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Government Act 1999.
 
      (2) Section 18 shall come into force on such day as the Prime Minister may by order made by statutory instrument appoint (being a day no later than 1st January 2010).
 
      (3) The remaining provisions of this Act, other than this section, shall come into force at the end of the Session of Parliament in which this Act is passed.
