Lord Harris of Haringey asked Her Majesty's Government:
The Minister of State, Scottish Office (Lord Macdonald of Tradeston): In 1998-99 the central budget was £1.6 million and in 1999-2000 it will be £1.674 million.
Lord Hogg of Cumbernauld asked Her Majesty's Government:
What arrangements have been made for the answering of written and oral parliamentary Questions relating to Scotland and governmental matters devolved to the Scottish Parliament after 1 July 1999.[HL1093]
Lord Macdonald of Tradeston: The House will need to consider how to handle Scottish business after devolution. Ministers in the United Kingdom Government will, in general, no longer have responsibility for matters which are within the legislative competence of the Scottish Parliament or the executive competence of the Scottish Ministers. They will continue to answer questions about matters within their responsibility.
Lord Selkirk of Douglas asked Her Majesty's Government:
Lord Macdonald of Tradeston: The information is given in the tables below. 1996-97 is the latest financial year for which actual expenditure information is currently available. The figures, which are derived from local authority returns, do not include the cost of home to school transport, school meals, education authority central administration
costs and loan charges. From 1 July 1999, this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.Regional/Islands Councils | 1992-93 | 1993-94 | 1994-95 | 1995-96 |
