8.Devolution: England (Balloted debate)—It was moved by the Lord Bishop of Durham that there be laid before the House papers relating to the case for devolution to the English Regions; after debate, the motion was (by leave of the House) withdrawn.
9.Universities (Balloted debate)—It was moved by the Lord Norton of Louth that there be laid before the House papers relating to the case for reducing the burden of bureaucracy on universities; after debate, the motion was (by leave of the House) withdrawn.
10.House of Lords Financial Powers Bill [HL]—It was moved by the Lord Saatchi that the bill be now read a second time; after debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
11.Consolidated Fund (No. 2) Bill— It was moved by the Lord McIntosh of Haringey that the bill be now read a second time; the motion was agreed to and the Committee was negatived; then, Standing Order 46 having been dispensed with, the bill was read a third time and passed.
12.Postal Services Act 2000 (Determination of Turnover for Penalties) Order 2001—It was moved by the Lord Sainsbury of Turville that the draft Order laid before the House on 28th February be approved; the motion was agreed to.
13.Postal Services Act 2000 (Consequential Modifications No. 1) Order 2001—It was moved by the Lord Sainsbury of Turville that the draft Order laid before the House on 1st March be approved; the motion was agreed to.
14.Jobseeker’s Allowance (Amendment) Regulations 2001—It was moved by the Lord Davies of Oldham that the draft Regulations laid before the House on 28th February be approved; the motion was agreed to.
