The following Lords of Appeal were present:

1.Three Rivers District Council and others (Original Appellants and Cross-respondents) v. Governor and Company of the Bank of England (Original Respondents and Cross-appellants)—It was ordered that the question as to costs in the Queen’s Bench Division which were dealt with by the Order of Mr Justice Clarke of 2nd October 1997 be remitted to a Judge of the Commercial Court in the Queen’s Bench Division for determination; that the original appellants do pay to the original respondents 20 per cent of their costs in the Court of Appeal and that remainder of the costs of both parties in the Court of Appeal be costs in the cause; that the original appellants do pay to the original respondents the costs incurred by them in this House up to and including 18th May last, the amount thereof to be certified by the Clerk of the Parliaments if not agreed between the parties; that there be no order as to costs in respect of the hearing before the Appellate Committee on 27th June last; and that the original respondents do pay to the original appellants the remainder of the costs incurred by them in this House from 19th May last up to and including today, the amount thereof to be certified by the Clerk of the Parliaments if not agreed between the parties.
2.Dubai Aluminium Company Limited v. Salaam (Respondent) and others (Original Appellants and Cross-respondents) and others and another (Original Respondent and Cross-appellants)—The petition of the original appellants praying that the time for lodging the statement and appendix and setting down the cause for hearing might be extended to 25th June next (the agents for the original respondents and cross-appellants consenting thereto) was presented; and it was ordered as prayed (lodged 21st May).
3.Cape & Dalgleish (a firm) (Respondents) v. Fitzgerald (Appellant) and others—The petition of the appellant praying that the time for lodging the statement and appendix and setting down the cause for hearing might be extended to 19th June next (the agents for the respondents consenting thereto) was presented; and it was ordered as prayed..
