Select Committee Report
27. Human Rights—The First Report from the Joint Committee, Criminal Justice and Police Bill, was made; it was ordered that the Report be printed. (HL Paper 69)
Public Business
28. International Development Bill—A bill to make provision relating to the provision of assistance for countries outside the United Kingdom; to make provision with respect to certain international financial institutions and the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission; and for connected purposes was brought from the Commons, read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 46)
29. International Development Bill—It was ordered that the Explanatory Notes relating to the bill be printed. (HL Bill 46-EN)
30. Armed Forces Bill—It was moved by the Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean that the bill be now read a second time; after debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
31. Hepatitis “C”—The Lord Morris of Manchester asked Her Majesty’s Government what further help they are considering for people who were infected with hepatitis “C” by contaminated National Health Service blood products and the dependants of those who have since died in consequence of their infection; after debate, the question was answered by the Lord Burlison.
