| "International co-operation |
(1) | The Secretary of State shall pursue the objectives of international development. |
(2) | International development means the elimination of poverty and the achievement of human development, including peace, security and the promotion and protection of human rights for all people in the world. |
(3) | To this end the Secretary of State shall ensure that policy is coherent across economic, social, political and military spheres. |
(4) | The Secretary of State shall participate in and support relevant multilateral action including that by the United Nations, the Commonwealth, the European Union, the World Bank, the International Development Association, the International Finance Corporation, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and other appropriate bodies." |
