Lord Glenarthur: My Lords, the Minister has not touched on one important point. I hope that he will do so before drawing his remarks to an end. I specifically asked about Pitcairn island. Pitcairn is our one dependency in the region. Only 50 or so people live there and make their living there. Nevertheless, it is important. I hope that the Minister will kindly refer to Pitcairn and answer my question.

Lord Grocott: My Lords, if the noble Lord will allow me, I shall write to him on that point. He can rapidly be assured of that.

I hope that I have been able to assure the House of our commitment to this region. If I have not done so to the absolute satisfaction of everyone, I am sure that there are enough experts in the House on these subjects to ensure that we return to them if we need to do so.
