The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Defence (Lord Bach): We expect to complete our response to the House of Lords Chinook Select Committee report before the normal six-month period allowed for such responses.
Lord Hylton asked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether they consider that local opinion, perhaps on a county basis, would provide a suitable way for deciding the future of hunting. [HL3502]
The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Lord Whitty): Following his Statement on 21 March, my right honourable friend the Minister of State for Rural Affairs will consider all constructive ideas on the practical issues towards resolving the matter of hunting with dogs.
