EVIDENCE BY THE MINISTER OF STATE, FOREIGN AND COMMONWEALTH OFFICE, ON THE LAEKEN EUROPEAN COUNCIL

1. In recent years it has been our practice to take evidence regularly, normally after the six-monthly meetings of the European Council, from a Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

2. Accordingly, in this report we make available, for the information of the House, the oral evidence given to us by Peter Hain MP, Minister for Europe, on the outcome of the Laeken European Council held on 14 and 15 December 2001.
