16   Using our broadest definition of ageing-related research, approximately £877 million of the research funded by the Wellcome Trust over the last 10 years is directly or indirectly related to ageing. This table shows the result of more specific searches, using the key words shown above. The search was conducted such a way that a grant can not be counted more than once, even if it triggered more than one of the keywords/phrases. We have not attempted to combine "Ageing or Longevity" with any of other key word listed in this table. Data was obtained by searching for the indicated keyword/phrase over the period 1994-2004. Back
