Lords Amendment No. 28

 

Mr Secretary Hain

 

To move, That this House insists on its disagreement with the Lords in their Amendment No.

 

28 but proposes the following Amendments to the Bill in lieu of that Amendment:—

 

(a)

 

Parliamentary Star    

Page  25,  line  14,  at end insert the following new Clause:—

 

         

‘Review of operation of Act

 

(1)    

The Secretary of State must, before the end of 2014, prepare a report on the

 

operation of the provisions of this Act.

 

(2)    

The Secretary of State may prepare subsequent reports on the operation of the

 

provisions of this Act.

 

(3)    

The Secretary of State must lay a copy of any report prepared under this section

 

before Parliament.’.

 

(b)

 

Parliamentary Star    

Page  26,  line  38,  at end insert—

 

‘(1A)    

But section (Review of operation of Act) extends to Northern Ireland in

 

accordance with subsection (1) only as respects the provisions of this Act

 

extending there.’.

The following provisions shall apply to the Pensions Bill:

1.    

The Bill shall be committed to a Public Bill Committee.

2.    

Proceedings in the Public Bill Committee shall (so far as not previously

 

concluded) be brought to a conclusion on Thursday 8th February 2007.

The Public Bill Committee shall have leave to sit twice on the first day on

 

which it meets.

 

Consideration and Third Reading

 

4.    

Proceedings on consideration shall (so far as not previously concluded) be

 

brought to a conclusion one hour before the moment of interruption on the

 

day on which those proceedings are commenced.

 

5.    

Proceedings on Third Reading shall (so far as not previously concluded) be

 

brought to a conclusion at the moment of interruption on that day.

 

6.    

Standing Order No. 83B (Programming committees) shall not apply to

 

proceedings on consideration and Third Reading.

 

Other proceedings

 

7.    

Any other proceedings on the Bill (including any proceedings on

 

consideration of Lords Amendments or on any further messages from the

 

Lords) may be programmed.

 

 

PENSIONS BILL (PROGRAMME) (NO. 2)

 

Mr Secretary Hutton

 

That the Order of 16th January 2007 (Pensions Bill (Programme)) be varied as follows:

 

       1. Paragraphs 4 and 5 of the Order shall be omitted.

 

       2. Proceedings on consideration shall be taken in the order shown in the first

 

column of the following Table.

 

       3. The proceedings shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a

 

conclusion at the times specified in the second column of the Table.

That the following provisions shall apply to the Pensions Bill for the purpose of

 

supplementing the Orders of 16th January and 18th April 2007 (Pensions Bill

 

(Programme) and Pensions Bill (Programme) (No. 2)):

 

Consideration of Lords Amendments

 

1.    

Proceedings on consideration of Lords Amendments shall (so far as not

 

previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion three hours after their

 

commencement at this day’s sitting.

 

2.    

The Lords Amendments shall be considered in the following order, namely

 

15 to 24, 1, 12 to 14, 28, 2 to 11, 25 to 27, 29 to 73.

 

Subsequent stages

 

3.    

Any further Message from the Lords may be considered forthwith without

 

any Question being put.

 

4.    

The proceedings on any further Message from the Lords shall (so far as not

 

previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion one hour after their
