Q480 Lord Plumb:
Yes.
Mr Guth: No. We get the proposal at the end
of June or in July, so the Commission is waiting for the French
elections.
Q481 Lord Plumb:
The message we had yesterday from the Commissioner was that she
is quite confident that by 4 July she will have something on the
table.
Mr Guth: We get the opinion of the European
Parliament on the Communication of the Commission now, in March.
I spoke with the Deputy Head of Cabinet and he said, "OK,
then we cannot table the proposal in March because we have to
write it before", so they would like to have a gap of three
or four months, and then we had the problem of the French elections
and the regional elections in Spain.
