1    Barony of Colgrain in the Peerage of the United Kingdom The Lord Chancellor reported that Alastair Colin Leckie Campbell had established his succession to the Barony of Colgrain in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. The Clerk of the Parliaments was accordingly directed to enter Lord Colgrain on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5).

4    London Local Authorities and Transport for London Bill The bill was reported from the Unopposed Bill Committee on Recommitment with amendments.

Public Business

5    Rape crisis centres A question was asked by Lord Harrison and answered by Lord Bassam of Brighton.

6    Higher education: student loans A question was asked by Baroness Seccombe and answered by Baroness Morgan of Drefelin.

7    Zimbabwe A question was asked by Baroness Park of Monmouth, on behalf of Lord Blaker, and answered by Lord Malloch-Brown.

8    Cluster munitions A question was asked by Lord Elton and answered by Lord Malloch-Brown.

9    Pensions Bill Lord McKenzie of Luton moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.

10    Farriers’ Qualification (European Recognition) Regulations 2008 Lord Addington moved to resolve that this House calls on Her Majesty’s Government to revoke the Regulations laid before the House on 10 March (SI 2008/646). After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

11    Child Maintenance and Other Payments Bill The bill was returned from the Commons with the amendments agreed to.

The House adjourned at 7.35pm until 3.00pm on Wednesday 4 June.

Grand Committee Business

The Grand Committee met in the Moses Room at 3.30pm.

Housing and Regeneration Bill The Grand Committee further considered the bill, beginning with amendment 27. The Committee adjourned after clause 10 was agreed to.

The Committee adjourned at 7.39pm.
